Don’t worry, it’s not me. It’s my coworker. She started the Weight Watchers program about 6 weeks ago and has lost 10 lbs to date. Her starting weight was 250 lbs and her goal is to lose about 80 lbs. I’ve always been a fan of Weight Watchers, having seen other friends use the program successfully. She’s going for the slow but long-term route, aiming to lose 2 lbs a week. It will take her almost a year to reach her goal.
Anyways, all of us in the office are excited for her. It’s really great to see her changing her lifestyle. Somehow, I have become her biggest cheerleader. Every Wednesday she goes to the nearby WW meeting during lunch. And every Wednesday we all wait in anticipation for the results. And without fail, she has lost weight every week, so every week we cheer her on. Two weeks ago I went with her to a WW meeting. It was my first. It was cool. It felt like what I’d imagine an AA meeting might feel like. It was a very supportive yet honest atmosphere.
I’m enjoying continuing to get to know my coworkers. They are really cool people.
